Running Older Programs on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10
If you have ever installed an application on your Windows PC and noticed it has not functioned or performed as you would of liked? Well, when Microsoft released Windows 7, 8.1 and 10; they improved the compatibility aspect of the Operating Systems (OS) significantly – in terms of running older programs on newer OS.
So, How Do I get my Older Programs to Function better on Windows 7 and Onwards?
Once you have installed your desired program,the first step to take is to right-click the shortcut which will either be in the start menu or your Windows desktop. Then the next step is to click on Properties, and click on the Compatibility tab. Once you have accessed this section of the dialog box (refer to the image illustrated on step 3 for how it will appear). The penultimate step is to click in the checkbox under Compatibility Mode and check “Run this program in Compatibility Mode for”. The final step is to simply select the OS system which is designed to function effectively from the list, and click Apply.
